Hi all
CKEditor latest version for Drupal 7 is adding a SPAN tag <span style="font-size: 12px;"> inside a P tag when I hit return. Is there any way of turning off this SPAN tag addition? I want just a P tag to wrap my blocks of text. I've had a good hunt around and can't find an answer.
Thanks.
Mark

I cannot reproduce it on my local installation. I have just tried this on Drupal 7 with the Open Source CKEditor module version 7.x-1.12, with CKEditor 3.6.6, default settings, and everything works all right. Can you check your configuration to see if something might be causing this? What Enter and Shift+Enter mode do you use? Have you customized the styles in any way? Do you use any additional stylesheets?

Hi Anna
Hi Anna
No additional stylesheets and I haven't customised the styles.
Cleanup and output:
Enter mode: <p>
Shift and enter mode: <p>
Font formats: p;pre;address;h1;h2;h3;h4;h5;h6
Custom formatting options (the following are checked, unlisted options are unchecked):
Indent the element contents
Break line before the opening tag
Break line after the opening tag
Break line after the closing tag
I have these options set in config. Do you think these might be affecting it?
I have since discovered that I can remove the errant <span>s by highlighting the block and clicking the Remove Format button. So although the <span>s are going in I can at least remove them now, albeit in a long winded kind of way.

I'm using Google fonts - Open
I'm using Google fonts - Open Sans and Bitter:
link href='http://fonts.googleapis.com/css?family=Open+Sans:300,400,700' rel='stylesheet' type='text/css'>
<link href='http://fonts.googleapis.com/css?family=Bitter' rel='stylesheet' type='text/css'>
I'm calling them in a standard stylesheet with
body {
font-family: 'Open Sans', arial, sans-serif;
And referencing the size as:
#content p, #content td, #content li {
line-height: 201%;
font-size: 121%;
}
<link href='http://fonts.googleapis.com/css?family=Open+Sans:300,400,700' rel='stylesheet' type='text/css'> <link href='http://fonts.googleapis.com/css?family=Bitter' rel='stylesheet' type='text/css'>

What is your initial HTML
What is your initial HTML code? Could it be that it is a <p> element with a <span> and CKEditor simply continues that?
Can you try to remove your customizations and see if this is still a problem on a standard Drupal site, default CKEditor settings? And then add your custom styling, fonts etc, step by step, and see where it breaks?
This does not happen to you on our demo site, using the same browser etc?
If after these steps the error is still there, can you report it on the tracker for the CKEditor for Drupal module?
