Hi guys,
I am having a problem with the inline editing where once it is initiated on a page which has a any input box,CKEditor will basically take the focus as in the cursor, even if you click on an input element, the cursor still jumps back to CKEditor.
The only way of editing anything in an input box is by holding down the mous button on the wanted input box while I type. This strange focus behaviour even affects CKEditors own input Dialogs that require text entry, when trying to type the text, the cursor still jumps back to the edit area.
Any help will be deeply appreciated.

I have the same problem...
I have a text area outside the editor and i want to use that text area to insertHTML inside an inline editor. When I click in the input area the editor lose the focus. I try to lock it without any success...
Yep, I'm having the exact
Yep, I'm having the exact same problem, too. I have a title field and a status select, and I can't choose either.
I think that your situation
I think that your situation is perfect for FocusManager.add function. My problem is that I have multiple Inline istances and I need to exclude some dom elements from the focus manager for all the istances!
I tried config.startupFocus =
I tried config.startupFocus = false; in the config.js but it didn't have any affect. In the end, I junked the entire "ckeditor" folder, downloaded the basic version with no additional plugins and everything is working perfectly.
In short, I'm learning to crawl before I try running...

Same issue & prefer solution not downgrading
I do notice, if I make the input fields tall enough to see this, parts of the formatting tools vaguely appear inside fields outside of the ckeditor instance. image attached. Again, i made no changes to the instance setup. But that floating toolset is not exactly the same as the related toolset in my config.js. It doesn't help remove all the config.js lines, by the way.
Thanks in advance for anything. This upgrade was a bear. I even did a fresh install. I had to try several combinations to get the editor to appear correctly, or at all, for that matter. I do hope that "basic" is not going to be the only way to go.
OK. I gave in and re-installed the basic. Had similar issues as before. Many of the toolbar buttons are disabled. I've reviewed the config.js, etc, and just cannot see the problem. It seems to me that the basic build allows you to add more plugins, but does not accomodate them truly.
