Example code for menuButton?

I've been looking everywhere for some example code for a menuButton plugin. The only code I've managed to find that uses it is the SCAYT plugin, which is very complicated and hard to understand. So far I've managed to make a button appear, but I can't find out how to attach menu items to it. Can anyone point me at a simple example?

I have the same question. Btw, could you please share to me the SCAYT plugin source code link? I tried to find it in https://github.com/ckeditor but it seems I lost my way :)
