Hi. We have been using the fckeditor at our site for years. Because of various issues (e.g. Paste from Word problems, strange character artifacts) which were never solved in the fckeditor but seem to work better in the ckeditor, we are interested in upgrading. My questions are:
1. Can the ckeditor and fckeditor run together at the same site? The reason for this would be to install the ckeditor and have it run in some isolated forum areas instead of the fckeditor and see if it works well in the overall same environment, with the same site CSS, etc. Is this difficult to do? Or would we perhaps be creating conflicts between the two editors?
2. The major stickling point in changing to the ckeditor (besides some custom toolbar items we would need to redevelop) is the issue of direct uploading of images to be embedded. We have server side scripts for the fckeditor to handle this but I imagine they are incompatible with the ckeditor. What did people do when they switched from the fckeditor to the ckeditor? Was there some standard approach for hooking in their existing file upload/manage solution into the ckeditor?
Anyway, I know these questions are simple to the point of sounding vague. But any initial advice people can give would be appreciated.
Thanks,
doug
