reg insert image & templates

culd u explain the template feature & its use.
can the templates be created in the editor & then saved
i need to allow the users to use the editor itself to create the template using its bold, italic , insert image features & save it & use it later
i dont want to create template outside the editor
after i create some template and save it in the editor the code is displayed
how can i make the template saved on the harddisk as a page visible to the user & not the code
