oEditor.setReadOnly(true) doesn't work properly

I justed downloaded and installed v3.6.
I tried to set the editor to readOnly mode using editor.setReadOnly(true), but this has no effect at all.
May be it is linked to the fact that I am using sharedSpaces to separate toolbar from content area.

Please advise.
