Hi, does anyone know how to get ckeditor to work on Safari on the iphone? It fully loads, but clicking in the textarea results in no keyboard popping up.
What does work is clicking "Source" then click in and type.

Re: iPhone keyboard doesn't pop up in latest ckeditor
I have the same issue:
The latest version of CKEditor on Safari and the iPhone won't let me type into the editor.
Any news???
If this can't be fixed, we may have to use another text editor.
Regards
Michael

On the website it says
I think that Safari on the iPhone is a major browser and a major OS.
There are millions of iPhone users.
Also it doesn't work with the Google Android phone.
Please can this issue be fixed.

Michael

Because AFAIK, no other rich editor works with the version of Safari shipped in iPhone, so that means that the one that must fix it is Apple.
If you can point to other rich editor that works correctly in an iPhone then it could be possible to find out what are the requirements to make it show the keyboard.

It's a pity that you can't understand the difference between a plain text editor and a wysiwyg editor.
Re: iPhone keyboard doesn't pop up in latest ckeditor
Well yeah but technically it's a markdown editor on this forum which is not WYSIWYG.
Actually, the latest android and iphone webkit browsers should now work in some way with CKEditor because contenteditable was implemented in CKEditor 3.4.
As far as anything less than an iphone 4 and an Android phone running less than android 2.2, I would not likely hold your breath. Support anything which doesn't do contenteditable isn't possible.
So it's upgrade the software on your phone or upgrade your phone or do without.

If you want to use a wysiwyg editor in a mobile you must use Fennec, but of course that leaves out all the Apple lovers.
Someday they'll implement the code to popup the keyboard when the user clicks in a wysiwyg, and then the support for those devices might be enabled if the rest of features are working correctly.

If you're gonna go on rants, at least be accurate. Opera Mini does support Javascript, except that is limited due to how they designed the engine to be very fast, and chopped out some functionality to get the speed they wanted. Had nothing to do with Apple.
