data validation routines available?

Are there any tools available to do data validation on data input into the Editor? While the editor will only be used by authorized members of my organization, data validation is a requirement for security. Any ideas or suggestions?

Any validation for safety must be done at the server, so you can search for your language of choice and you should be able to find some script that takes care of clean up and removes anything that isn't allowed.
