Hi all:
I am forced to use the replace by class method for ckeditor like the following:
<textarea class='ckeditor' cols="80" id="editor1" name="editor1" rows="10">
but I want to control the icons in my toolbar, and I can't figure out how to do this with the config.js file that I have.
when I was using the replace by code process I could do it this way:
CKEDITOR.replace( 'editor1', { toolbar : 'basic_bar' });
Any ideas or pointers on how this can be done, I have searched the forums, but can't find it there.
Thanks in advance, Petermac

Re: class method and custom toolbars
The issue was IE 8 and DIV tags ... we could not do js script calls from within a DIV tag for some reason, so
Added this function to the JS BEFORE the body tag:
function ckeditors() {
CKEDITOR.replace( 'editor1', { toolbar : 'basic_bar'} );
CKEDITOR.replace( 'editor2', { toolbar : 'basic_bar'} );
}
Then changed the body tag to the following:
<body onload="ckeditors();">
then named the text area tags appropriately:
<textarea name="editor1" id="editor1" cols="27" rows="5">
I just hope that no one else has to face something like this because it took about 3 full days to try and figure this all out ! I could find nothing here in the forums and nothing in the developers guide etc. Now to be fair this seems to be unique to IE 8 ... as it all worked well with the other browsers (FF, Chrome, and IE 9) .

Re: class method and custom toolbars
Well, you didn't show any code so it was really hard to understand what's your problem.
For example recently I had an operation aborted in IE8 that worked fine in any other browser, but in that case the symptoms are quite clear (a big alert as described http://blogs.msdn.com/b/ie/archive/2008 ... orted.aspx) but you didn't say anything about any error message, so that might not be related to your problem.
(btw, my problem wasn't about CKEditor but about just a normal page with some javascript)
