buttons in UI missing after new install

I am sorry if this has been covered. I cannot find it anywhere.

I have just installed CKEditor 3 I believe it is 3.0.1 (where are version numbers?)

I have it installed and it comes up but there are no buttons in the UI however when I roll over where they should be, they highlight and if I click they do.... things... like I expect they should, however I have no clue what I am clicking.

I am using FF3.5.3 and IE7 for testing. Neither show the buttons which at least is consistant. In this form that I am using right now at posting.php I *DO* see the buttons.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

The server is Apache I believe, it is a shared host.

OK, think I solved it. It worked locally just fine. Turns out I am using Dreamweaver and it has a "cloaking" feature on its site management so that you don't have to worry about uploading source files for images like the original Photoshop PSD files. Of course PNG is the native format for Fireworks and so DW kindly had them excluded from upload.

If I had used an external FTP this would not have happened. I did remove PNG from the cloaked list and it works like a charm now.
