Long time lurker, first time poster. I have an issue that I have been scratching my head over for several hours.
What i would like to do is have a div within the CKEditor textfield with a pre-defined height and different background colour so that it acts as guide for users and the maximum input they can enter.
I have the following so far:
CKEDITOR.replace( 'editor2',
{
toolbar : 'Basic'
});
I placed this within the <textarea id="editor2" name="editor2"><div style="background-color:red; height:150px"></div></textarea> fields in my document. All works well, the text entered directly is included in the div. However when i include a unordered list CKEditor closes the div and reopens it. This obviously creates an issue with the formatting.
So what I am trying to do now is include the above div in some other way. Preferably when the editor is created so that it is independent from the textarea itself. I have not found any documentation for this, so can anyone point me in the right direction?
