Re: What is CKEditor 3.6 for???
Did you mean Joomla 1.6 ? If yes try use our extension dedicated to Joomla from http://extensions.joomla.org/extensions/edition/editors/12821. Install it like any other extension in Joomla (via extension manager). After install set it as default editor in global configuration section. In components menu there is a link CKEditor which goes to component configuration.
Hope this helps you.

Re: What is CKEditor 3.6 for???
I don't understand what you mean, but extension for Joomla is dedicated extension with CKEditor library and you don't need install or upload anything more. After install Joomla extension you should have CKEditor installed in plugins/editors/ckeditor directory (here is also CKEditor library) and the rest of extension is in components and administrator/components directory.
CKEditor (library) from http://ckeditor.com/download is pure/clean CKEditor which is used by other extensions or by developers on their sites.
Hope this give you some clues.
