Typing Performance

Hello,

I am observing slow performance when typing into an editor that contains several elements such as spans or strongs. Is there any way to work around this? In the attached screen print I try to type really fast for 5 seconds and the CPU spikes for about 30 seconds. In FCKEditor 2.6.6 the CPU doesn't spike in the same workflow, it seems to max on in the 25% processor range (much more responsive then CKEditor).
