Table border in edit mode

Is there any way to add a faint table border in EDIT mode to allow the user to see the borders of the table without having to actually specify a border value? In previous versions of fckeditor, tables had a faint border which made it much easier to see the cells in the table. Now users are complaining they have to set a border on the table to see the cells and then remove the border when they finish editing each time.
