Styles/CSS question

I'm attempting to change the styles, in the dropdown to those from my sites css. I assumed that I could do this by using the config.contentsCss with the path to my css file in the config.js or in-line but I'm unable to get this to work. Am I misuderstanding the config.contentsCss attribute? Is it not possible to load styles from my own style sheet into the styles dropdown box in the editor?

ContentsCss is used to apply styles to the content whilst editing, its usually pointed at you front-of-site css file so you headers, text and colours are the same.

Are you looking for how to add new styles to the drop downs?

I was hoping that I could point to my front end .css file but then allow users to select certain pieces of text in the editor and then apply a class from the style sheet. Is this possible to do or am I not understanding the purpose of the style drop down box?
