Shall I buy the Ckeditor license?

Hi,

I have downloaded WYSIWYG extension for Mediawiki 1.17.1 but there are some functions not activated like
uploading images. We have created a wiki for educational purposes, our users' age will range from 20 to 80 years so we need a really friendly editor.
We don't mind to buy a license as long as it allows CKeditor full function (at least image uploading) but we'd like to know if it will work on
mediawiki.

I'm new here so I apologize in case I've written a post in the wrong section.

for image upload you need ckfinder.

Thanks to you both,

I have been looking to CKSource documentation in order to integrate CKFinder
and CKeditor but due to my lack of technical knowledge I don't know how to do it.

I miss a more detailed information on the files to be modified ( I have tried to insert the example codes provided, without the comments of course, but it doesn't work).

Are there any other links or community forums that I could check?

Sorry, I didn't notice it in your original post but CKFinder isn't compatible with Mediawiki. There used to be a plugin for 1.16, but it's been discontinued. I wouldn't advise using it since it was designed for FCKEditor, an older version of our editor. We're still in the process of developing better ways to integrate CKFinder to Mediawiki, but it's still ongoing.
