Hi,
I'm having some problems with ckeditor in ie8, and i've been searching a bit on this forum, and i can't seem to find anybody else, who has the same problem as me.
The problem is that when i want to edit a h1 in ie (in normal mode) the h1 is some sort of element (non editable). A non-text element, that is. Here's a pic:
the top of the image is in normal mode, and the bottom is in source mode ('kilde' means source where i'm from)
The funny (ha-ha) thing is that it works perfectly in firefox:
the top of the image is in normal mode, and the bottom is in source mode ('kilde' means source where i'm from)
Does anybody know what is going on? Why are my h1 some sort of unknown element in ie?
Thanks in advance,
Andy

Re: Problems with h1's in ie
I have a similar (but not identical) problem. In my case it's not possible to edit the content within divs.
The problem occurs only with IE - but not with Firefox, Safari, ...
Have a look in this thread: http://cksource.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=17420
It seems that my problem has something to do with style sheets - but I wasn't able to find out what.
Question: Do you use style sheets on your site? If yes: What happens when you remove the style sheet?
Re: Problems with h1's in ie
And you are correct! It works when i remove the style sheet.
It's the height on the h1 that does it. I think it has something to do with a word 2007 component in the browser when using rich text formatting (are you using word 2007?). Because when you open a word 2003 document in 2007, it does the same kind of thing.
I'll see if i can figure out a work around, and i'll post it here if i do.
Thanks!
EDIT: it's a bug in ie, and i don't see a work around...
Re: Problems with h1's in ie
Questions:
- Why do you see a correlation between the problem and MS Office 2007?
- What happens on a system where MS Office 2007 isn't installed (unfortunately I have none)?
- Why do you think it's a bug in IE?
- Did you find a (MS) defect description? If yes: Could you post the link?
Thanks
