OnChange

I am finely changing one of my old scripts over to CKEditor and I need a replacement for TinyMCE's handle_event_callback witch is basically OnChange. I have done some searching and found that there was a work around for FCKEditor using IsDirty() but that doesn't seem to be in CKEditor so what is the best method of detecting a OnChange now? Thanks for your help!
