So I have scoured a mess of docs for the answer I seek and to no avail. I am using mediawiki 1.13, the install of ckeditor went as well as can be expected from a "download and expand here" level of detail, suffice to say the test works. I can do to the sample test page and see what I really want to see when I hit the edit tab on my wiki document.
The question that I now run across is how to use this while editing the actual wiki pages. I tried going to the my prefs -> Editor and did not see any enable or disable rich text editor option, I also went to my prefs -> misc and also did not see an enable or disable rich text editor option. I suppose what I am really looking for is a very detailed way of integrating the editor into my wiki instance. Does such a thing exist?
Oh, also to mention, I am not a wiki expert (not by a long shot), but I am technical and have no problem mucking with php.
Thanks in advance.

Re: Making ckeditor the default for mediawiki
Yes, we're planning the integration with MediaWiki, it's really nice if later we can get some help from you
