Hello,
My company has recently decided to upgrade from FCKeditor to CKEditor. While there have been a few hiccups so far, porting the current config file to the new style and finding a plugin to continue handling our old xml templates for starters, it hasn't been too bad.
Unfortunately, we haven't been able to find a reliable way to grab the editor instance using our current setup. It used to be possible to grab the instance with something like this:
That is no longer working. I've also tried some of the other suggestions here on the forum like these:
Again, those don't work, and I'm always told that the editor doesn't exist. We are using an ASP.NET control to add the editor to the page, and from what I've read so far, it seems like we would have to totally scrap our current design and go with using a text-area instead of the control and replace it with one later on in order to grab the instance.
Is there any other way to get the editor instance for an ASP.NET control?

var NewEntryEditor; function FCKeditor_OnComplete(editorInstance) { NewEntryEditor = editorInstance; }

CKEDITOR.instances.editor1 CKEDITOR.instances[editor1] CKEDITOR.instances["editor1"]
