Disabled object resizing, now I can't tell what's selected

I've disabled object resizing via the ckeditor config, and now (because there is no resize handle) when I click on an image or table, there is nothing to indicate that object is selected. Is there some way to target the currently selected element through the stylesheet/some other means in order to add a border of some sort to it?
