Can't force Ampersand to simple in link browser

Hi there. I love CK editor for Joomla, but there's one bug that I can't seem to fix.

When I use the Link Browser to add a link to the content, instead of using "&" where the link requires it, it uses "&amp" which makes the link not work properly in the CMS.

After searching the forums, I found some really old threads mostly from 2005, indicating I should set the config.forceSimpleAmpersand = true; in the config settings. ( also tried CKEDITOR.config.forceSimpleAmpersand = true;)

But that didn't work.

I'd really like to use the link browser, as it makes managing content much easier, but currently it's impossible. Can anyone figure out why CKEditor does this?
