Can we populate data from the server in CKeditor ?

Hi,
Is it possible to add a new menu item in the CKEditor , which on clicked, needs to show a list of data from the database ?

Is it possible to show data from the server or managed bean in CKEditor ?

For this you have to write a dialog plugin. I think an iframe dialog is best choice.

Does anyone have some example code they can share that shows how to post back to the editor from an Iframe. I created several other type of plugins but can not figure out how to post back from the Iframe plugin. I have successfully created the button that opens the iframe and then pulled my selections in from my database. I select my items from the drop down list but I can not figure out how to pass my iframe selections nd content back to ckeditor.
