If I have the ckeditor-directory in a subdirectory. If I put the asp.net-control in page with a ContentPlaceHolder from masterpage I only get a textbox with no ckeditor UI. If copy and paste the syntax to standard page without ContentPlaceholder it works fine.
If I move the ckeditor-directory to root-level and delete BasePath from the syntax, both pages works fine.

You have to know what you are doing. There is a difference between "ckeditor", "/ckeditor", and "~/ckeditor". There's also a difference between a simple "subdirectory", and a "virtual directory".
If I put this in the control-syntax BasePath="~/admin/ckeditor" the standard-page works but not the page with ContentTemplate. Both pages and the masterpage are in the admin subdir.
Has anyone gotten the CKEditor.NET control to work properly inside of a jQuery dialog? Normally, with the standard CKEditor you'd need to initialize and destroy the control when the dialog opens and closes.

so in steps...
0. page is blank onload, only shows a button to click on (to pop up the modal popup) 1. click for modal popup (modal now shows) 2. click 'show editor' (you now have the errors below - not sure which one you may get)

put it in bin folder to run the sample (too big i can't upload here, oh and also you will need ckeditor folder inside the sample too)
I have a similar problem with the CKEditor.Net 3.5.2 but with multiview. To replicate the problem (assuming you have a properly configured setup (/ckeditor folder and CKEditor.Net.dll already in default place): 1. Add an update panel to a webform 2. Inside the update panel, add a multiview control and set its activeviewindex to 0. 3. Inside the multiview control, add two view panels 4. Inside the first view panel, add a button. On code behind, handle the button's OnClick event by changing the multiview's activeviewindex to 1. 5. Inside the second view panel, add the CKEditor.Net control. 6. Run it by hitting CTRL+F5 or just F5. 7. You should see the button, and when you click on it you'll get the error:
Line: 5 Error: Sys.ScriptLoadFailedException: The script '/CKEditorMultiview/ckeditor/ckeditor.js?t=B1GG4Z6' could not be loaded.
It happens on Internet Explorer 8.0.7601.17514, Google Chrome 10.0.648.151, FireFox 3.6.13 (although the javascript error does not show on GC and FF - might be a in-browser error config thing - the CKEditor.Net being rendered as a plain textbox is present on all three major browsers).

I had a similar problem with a content control in combination with an asp ajax update panel. For me it works if I put the actual relative html path in the BasePath property, without "~" and ending in "/".
Hi, thank you very much for your control. I have two questions that drove me mad and hope you can help me.
1) how can i intercept the save event from the ckeditor in my asp.net code? I only need to be able to launch a subroutine in my vb.net code when the button is pressed.
2) I used in the past your old unofficial control and it was working fine. Now i'm trying to use the new control, in the same page with updatepanel where the old control has worked. When the user press a button outside the editor on the page and launch a postback, the editor disappear, and it come back at the end of the postback. It's strange because with the old control the editor never disappeard. Is it normal or i have done something wrong?
It's so difficoult to find information about ckeditor and asp.net on the net, i'm searching from many days but i could found no info about it, i hope you can help me.
I am having trouble with this control and postbacks. I do not use AJAX at all, but I find that any postback will cause the CKEditor control to disappear.
My app is an ASP.NET program running the 3.5 framework.
My darlings, I have ceased development on this control, because now we are developing an official control. You can find it in the downloads sections.
Anyway, there's nothing "hard" about it. If you do not know how to add a simple control to your page, and set its properties (to point to ckeditor folder), then I'm sorry, but you should first go and learn ASP.NET!
The issues with Ajax postbacks should be fixed in the latest CKEditor for ASP.NET version (3.6.2) that was released last week. Can you check if you can still reproduce the problems with this release?
bump, every time i come back for another .net website project, and looking for the new version of ckeditor, this is the first place i will be and again and over again, thank you!

BTW you know that now there is an official version? And the Ajax problems are fixed now, along with some other problems that we had in the official version. You can now safely work with it, and count on it to provide the same functionality that the unofficial control provided.
Hi all, I've struggled with on how to implement CKEditor with .NET 4.0 (VisualStudio 2010) DynamicData website. My solution can be found here, it's the second answer in the post: http://stackoverflow.com/a/11689200/874160
I have a problem with the parameters which are Decimal type. F.x. I have have:
Dialog_BackgroundCoverOpacity="0.5", but since my culture for the website is da-DK, this gets output as 0,5 in the JS, which ofc. makes CKE not to work. (We use , as decimal separator) Any chance, this could some how be fixed, so the .NET control always prints out JS in en-US culture? ... Without me changing the webpages culture....
There are some glitches with CKE when cooperating with MsAjax.
Guys I need you to make sample websites with the "common" cases of using the update panels with the CKEditor, So I can see where its working and where not, and hopefully fix it! Personally I don't use Update Panels, every most of my javascript I write myself, so I'm doing this for you. (Even a large part of Microsoft's controls do not support the MS Ajax!)

I have a lot of bug and regression between the component proposed here and the new official component.
Is there a place to send bug?
before we could do this.RemovePlugins = "link, save, scayt" On The component contructor
now I'm forced to do so in the ASPX page.
it's a big regression for me.
