Hi all -
I've been (attempting) to work with CKEditor 3.6.2 on and off for some time now. The background of my project is creation of a simple cms using php, mysql, and CKEditor. Unfortunately, I've had some issues with CKEditor from the get go.
Using the 3.6.2 package of CKEditor, I can't get the editor to show up in any of the samples under ckeditor/_samples/php. This is running on a local testing server using xampp. I've also tried on mac using mamp. The editors won't show up in either of them. It does show up when I use the javascript integration method mentioned in the documentation, but a little more on that later.
Am I doing something wrong here that's causing it to not show up? I've tried to use these samples in multiple browsers, all of which have javascript enabled. It seems like the php is being processed before I see the pages, because there's no php there when I view through my local server. And when I went back and got a previous version (3.3.2), it seems that the php samples work.
I'd be fine with just using the js integration using ckeditor.js and a CKEDITOR.replace('mytextarea') script, but when I do that, I'm not able to get $_POST data from the CKEditor in my form - all the other fields work just fine and their data ends up in my database, but the field controlled by CKEditor is empty. I've used tamperdata to make sure that there's nothing in it....and there's actually just nothing there. Is it not possible to retrieve the data via $_POST if you use js to integrate?
I'm planning to just use 3.3.2 to get this working, but it's been driving me a little crazy not understanding why this isn't working, so if anyone could shed a little light, that would be great - thanks!
