CK Editor not working after upgrading

I just upgraded my WP theme to the latest CK Editor but now it does not show up as an activated or deactivated plugin (it doesn't show up at all as a plugin). When I click on posts or pages - I get a panel that looks like it is not activated. I've uploaded using the zip file in WP and I've uploaded the file with my FTP client but neither way seems to make any difference. When I deleted the CK editor plugin and try to go back to the basic WP editor - it is no longer there either.

Any suggestions how to remedy this problem would be much appreciated.
