Blank boxes

I was wondering how to get a field to submit as blank, if nothing was entered. I keep getting <p> </p>. I saw something in version 2 about FillEmptyBlocks, but not seeing it for v3,

One way to do it...

var text;
if(ckEditor.getData() == "<p></p>")
      text = "";
else
      text = ckEditor.getData();
