Scenario:
Update Panel
CKeditor
a hidden asp:FileUpload control
an asp:LinkButton to save the image.
The problem:
When I make the FileUpload visible, everything is ok, it works as expected when I click the Save button.
But when I hide it and use the anchor to simulate the click, CKEditor is throwing the following error:
"Microsoft JScript runtime error: Access is denied."
Highlighted code:
Complete sentence:
THIS PROBLEM ONLY OCCURS ON INTERNET EXPLORER.
I've already tested it on Firefox and everything is just fine.
Haven't had the opportunity to test in Chrome yet.
If you ask me WHY I am doing this with a FileUpload control, my answer is:
I can't customize a FileUpload control, so I just threw a TextBox and a Button to make it more user friendly, as the asp:FileUpload is rendered differently in the top 3 Browsers. (IE, Firefox and Chrome).
Anyone ever had this problem ?

Re: Simulating asp:FileUpload click does not work in IE
In the end it's possible, but you'll have to struggle quite a bit with it to find a hole in their protection.
I wonder if they have changed this in IE10 as nowadays it's possible to easily submit the data using XHR...
Re: Simulating asp:FileUpload click does not work in IE
Clicking the control is ok, but if I click the anchor it doesn't work.
Any workarounds?
Re: Simulating asp:FileUpload click does not work in IE
Hi. I seam to be having the exact same issue.
The "FileUpload" element works fine, if clicked directly, but if I call the click event externally it just breaks. And this ONLY happens on IE. And again, having the element hidden or visible has no effect whatsoever.
Did you managed to find a workaround this problem?
Thanks,
Dia.
