I know ckeditor is not compatible with out of the box android browsers. I tested ckeditor on FF for mobile and it does sort of work, not great though. But my question is this:
How do we get android developers to test ckeditor and get it to work with their standard browsers? Is there anything we need to tell them or anywhere special we need to go to submit this request? Is ckeditor team interested or even thought of helping communicate and take this issue to android browser developers? b/c many people are starting to use just their android mobile device for many things these days. Let us know what the best method would be to get them to act on getting ckeditor compatible with android phones.
Thanks,
Ben

Re: Ckeditor & Android browser compatability
You must file tickets with each browser developer if you can't find one that describes the problem. Try to provide simplified testcases that address one issue at a time.
For Firefox you should report them in https://bugzilla.mozilla.org
One of the main problems to start using Firefox in my experience is the keyboard, I filed this ticket https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=621438 over one year ago but still there's no action performed on it. You must understand that they have a set of goals and before aiming for "let's handle perfectly html editors" is the "let's make the browser fast, light and nice enough so people can use it". If the people doesn't use Firefox in Android due to more basic issues then there's no point in trying to fix the problems with CKEditor.
For the default Android browser you can file issues here http://code.google.com/p/android/issues/list
In this case you should try to test with an ICS tablet, I found that an Asus Transformer with HoneyComb is mostly usable (http://alfonsoml.blogspot.com/2011/12/a ... ormer.html), and maybe they have improved some of the bugs in the new version of the OS.
Remember in both cases that the keyword for the browsers is "contenteditable", that's how the basic feature is called.

Re: Ckeditor & Android browser compatability
But please, don't file tickets in their bug trackers stating "the browser doesn't support contentEditable in Android" because at best it will be closed as invalid. The browsers currently does support contentEditable and it's just specific features the part that it's missing.
