The latest update to the CKEditor contributed modules brings AI writing and editing directly into Drupal. Premium Features module 1.8.0 introduces CKEditor AI, adding AI Chat, AI Review, AI Translate, and AI Quick Actions inside the rich text editor. Authors can write, review, and translate content without the back and forth of third-party tools.

The release also includes support for watermarks in Word exports and several fixes to improve authoring experiences and compatibility. Plugin Pack module 1.5.0 delivers the long-awaited Restricted Editing feature for locked-down templates and controlled collaboration, along with configuration improvements to Layout Tables and general stability fixes.

New versions of the CKEditor 5 Premium Features and Plugin Pack modules bring important new capabilities to Drupal. Premium Features module 1.6.0 introduces Export with Inline Styles for generating inbox-ready HTML, Merge Fields for inserting dynamic placeholders, and dark theme support for Enhanced Source Editing. Plugin Pack module 1.4.1 adds Media Embed integration, along with refinements to font handling, fullscreen behavior, and general module checks. Together, these releases complete the set of email editing features in Drupal when combined with earlier additions like Email Configuration Helper and Layout Tables.

New versions of the CKEditor 5 Premium Features and Plugin Pack modules bring the latest CKEditor 5 v45.0.0 features into Drupal. These releases introduce several new plugins and key configuration improvements. The Premium Features module adds the new Email Configuration Helper, which flags editor settings that may not render correctly in email clients. It now also marks external Composer dependencies as optional, reducing bloat by requiring only what's needed for enabled plugins. The Plugin Pack module introduces three new plugins: Layout Tables for email-friendly visual layouts, the official Fullscreen plugin, and Empty Block to preserve intentional empty elements.

CKEditor 5, now with self-service licensing and version override for Drupal

With the release of Drupal 11.1.0, CKEditor 5 core module has been updated to version 44.0.0. The new CKEditor 5 version supports self-service licensing plans and enables users to integrate and purchase premium features seamlessly.    CKEditor 5 Premium Features module has also been updated and introduces the new Version Override Submodule allowing manual upgrades of CKEditor 5 within Drupal projects, ensuring access to the latest editor capabilities regardless of the Drupal version. Notably, for projects on Drupal 10.3 and 11.0.0 that are not yet upgraded to the current version, the Override Submodule is essential for accessing CKEditor 5 version 44.0.0 and enabling the new self-service licensing features.
