I have just tried to download FCKeditor (starting with Winace?) and AVG cuts in saying a trojan horse Dropper.Agent.BMH has been found. If it deals with it, installation stops. There is nothing in the forum about this, and a web search appears to say that it is a virus.
What should I do? Nothing too technical, please.
Thank you.

Re: When downloading FCKeditor, AVG finds Dropper.Agent.BMH
The FCKeditor is just a bunch of html, js and css files. Some server integration files but you won't find any .exe inside of it.
Re: When downloading FCKeditor, AVG finds Dropper.Agent.BMH
I followed this path:
http://www.fckeditor.net/download
sourceforge.net
Download FCKeditor
FCKeditor/FCKeditor 2.4.3 zip (because most other people have used this)
Save to disc
Done
Open
Winace....
when it launches AVG eventually says the problem is with:
C:\Program Files\Setup\Setup.exe
I have no idea what Winace is, nor why I need it.
Thank you for replying.
Re: When downloading FCKeditor, AVG finds Dropper.Agent.BMH
But according to your description, the problem is already in your hard drive. Do a full scan of your system and clean it up.
Re: When downloading FCKeditor, AVG finds Dropper.Agent.BMH
I then went through the above download sequence again, and the same error message appeared. When I ran another scan, the same four files appeared as problems. I did not go to any website between the clean bill of health and downloading.
Re: When downloading FCKeditor, AVG finds Dropper.Agent.BMH
Can you try to download other zips from anywhere else to check if everything is right?
And if you don't know why you have winace there, I would remove it. After all XP and Vista can handle .zip files without problems.
Re: When downloading FCKeditor, AVG finds Dropper.Agent.BMH
Anyway, I tried to download FCKeditor again, and this time instead of offering Winace or Winzip, Compressedfolder was offered and the file went to the desktop. Nothing else happened, no Wizard appeared. When I clicked on the desktop icon, just a yellow folder appeared and when it was clicked on, a list of files appeared. I clicked the File icon top left of the screen, and there was an option to unpack or open. I did this but do not know how to install FCKeditor from the desktop.
If this is too much trouble, please let it go. Many thanks.
Re: When downloading FCKeditor, AVG finds Dropper.Agent.BMH
In trying to download a new client website, we also got an AVG Trojan Horse warning. I would have had a lot more respect for FCKeditor if there were warnings and explanations on the site. Instead I had to find them on http://web.nvd.nist.gov/view/vuln/detai ... -2009-2265
http://web.nvd.nist.gov/view/vuln/detai ... -2006-6978
Did I miss something on the site?
