I'm trying to insert a custom tag into an xhtml file using the FCK object's InsertHtml Function. Everything seems to go through fine but it inserts a non-breaking space in an empty instead of inserting the new tag. Any ideas why this is? Code below:
If this is right does anyone know about a possible filter that fck has and how to change that?
Thanks in advance.
ccTag = '<customContent name="' + ccSelect + '"/>'; FCK.InsertHtml(ccTag);
If this is right does anyone know about a possible filter that fck has and how to change that?
Thanks in advance.

Re: Inserting Custom Tag through FCK.InsertHtml()? Filter?
From the behavior with a script I'm assuming I can add these tags through the source and only add them if I save directly from the source view...which is great that I can do that but I also have a plugin that inserts the tags. Is there any way to prevent the editor from deleting my tags as soon as I place them in there?

Do you actually have a plugin inserting the tags? I have everything I said in my config file and it still places into the position instead of my tag.

When you insert them do you insert them with any attributes? Are the tags you're inserting camel case (unfortunately mine need to be)? I'm inserting this:
How does the normal view of the editor interpret the new tag? And is there any way to make it interpret the tags (possibly as an extra div or something)?
Sorry for all the questions but I figured it would be better than asking one at a time. And thanks.

If you don't want to upgrade then you should test exactly which version (2.4.1 or 2.4.3) has the fix that you need (or even 2.4.0 without any modification) and then try to find out in the change log what's the fix or fixes that you need.
After all new versions are released to fix bugs, so if you want to use an old version, well, that's up to you.
Re: Inserting Custom Tag through FCK.InsertHtml()? Filter?
I followed the other examples and added a fake image to be interpreted by the editor and then changed its source to a relevant image.
Unfortunately I couldn't find where the editor was turning my camel case into lower case but I ended up solving this by just replacing the lowercase with the correct camelCase during my save function.
I appreciate the help anyway and hopefully this will answer these questions for other people in the future.
