Okay I was facing a bigger problem then you haha. But anyways the way you described your problem and your zest for solving the problem actually led me to solve my problem. And thats why I'm responding to your problem now. Since we both are working in asp.net 2.0 so this is what you have to do.
Just follow these steps and you are done :-
1) Create a folder in root namely " userfiles " and inside it create sub folder " image ". So its like this userfiles \ image
2) Now edit the following lines in fckeditor\fckconfig.js file
var _FileBrowserLanguage = 'php' ; // asp | aspx | cfm | lasso | perl | php | py var _QuickUploadLanguage = 'php' ; // asp | aspx | cfm | lasso | perl | php | py
Change it to following :-
var _FileBrowserLanguage = 'aspx' ; // asp | aspx | cfm | lasso | perl | php | py var _QuickUploadLanguage = 'aspx' ; // asp | aspx | cfm | lasso | perl | php | py
3) Now edit the following lines in fckeditor\editor\filemanager\connectors\aspx\config.ascx
// URL path to user files.
UserFilesPath = "/userfiles/";
Change to :-
UserFilesPath = "~/userfiles/";
Now you are ready to use fckeditor. Note :- That is for development on localhost. On remote sever don't forget to give read/write permission to this userfiles and image folder.
The steps provided by samrathjohn are correct. Have you override the method SetConfig() in /fckeditor/editor/filemanager/connectors/aspx/config.ascxfile , setting Enabled = true ?
I've got the exact same problem. As I've posted previously, the EXACT same code and file structure runs just fine on my WIN2000 and VISTA servers. The problem ONLY exists on the WIN2003 server. The upload works just fine, the notification to the upload dialog never seems to happen.
Boh, it works fine also on Windows Server 2003 SP2 (x86). for me the trick was adding the tilde ~ everywhere even in the server control: <FCKeditorV2:FCKeditor ID="FCKeditor1" runat="server" BasePath="~/fckeditor/" Value='<%# Bind("CriticDescription") %>' />
I'm having the same issue. Has anyone figured this out??
I have all the files installed properly. On my dev Windows XP, the image upload dialog works just fine. I put the same code on my Windows 2003 server and the image uploads and is put in the userfiles BUT the image upload dialog window stays open the progress bar keeps going. This happens in both IE and FireFox.
I'm having exactly the same problem as well. Editor works great on my xp pro dev machine, but when I host it on a server 2003 machine, the file uploads but progress bar continues. It's definitely not a permissions or directory path issue (at least not concerning the upload directory) but so far I haven't been able to figure it out.
I FIXED IT. At least I think so....it seems to work on my dev and on Windows Server 2003. I made a new post on how I did it. Here is the link: viewtopic.php?f=6&t=12112. Try it out. Hope this helps.
Re: Asp.net image uploader freeze's when uploading image
Another possibility - you are running vb.net, but the Config.ascx is in C#. I use full Visual Studio so I don't know how that would affect things.
Have you got it running on a live server so I can see the problem myself?
