Freditor is not good: 1. Because an editor is just not WYSIWIG! And Freditor? Terminator? Exterminator. Senator? Tor? Very mighty! Cruel. And in German language: Tor means Fool!
It is OK, if you simply don't like a name, but this kind of reasons like "German Tor" is just ridiculous. Many german words that have been taken over from latin end with 'tor'. You could mark every word that contains an 'i' as egoistic for english speaking people.
"and here I stand, poor lonesome TOR( =foolish man ), beeing as stupid as before." Not editor, because FCK is a editor, true, but it is even more: It is WYSIWIG, not just editing, it is for Textdesigning, and not just for typing code. Anything with "edit" will be misleading understatement. Tor or Tor? Auctionator? Cruel hammering. 3? Hammer! 2? Hammer! And the Last: Hammer-Hammer-Hammer. This is like allmighty grummling and flashing Thor in the sad ancient german darkskies! I don't like freditor, I do fear this! Fredi? Tor? No! "Right!" said Fred?
Mathias, please take your hands off the keyboard and slowly back away from the computer
I chuckled slightly at the name "WebWord", as my company is called "webworks.ie".
I think it should either be something completely obvious, like TextFormatter, or something more abstract like Spinner (as in, it spins the web (like a spider)).
I don't think it should be a play on anyone's name - as a mature application, it should be a brand unto itself. (although, I still think Freditor is cute)
Fred has said: "It will not be Freditor". Uff! And I am nearly overwhelmed. Hope this is true. Got a message: "Mathias, please take your hands off the keyboard and slowly back away from the computer:). OK, just2haveSaid: DOCTOR? As worse as TeethExtractor? WOFF! Word(s)_Outof_Freds_FCKeditor. There will be a woochy woffdog as logo, woff-woff-woff, and an asianstyle assistant avatar for Great Master Wu Tshi Wi , speaking wisely to the audience about br, p, strong and b under the bushes

Heiße Magister, heiße Doktor gar
und zieh' nun schon an die zehn Jahr
herauf, herab und quer und krumm
die Schüler an der Nase rum.
You don't have to teach me the german language - it is my mother tounge. Noone in germany woud think of "Tor" when he reads "Doktor" or "Editor".
I see you don't like "Freditor", that is OK. I see you think that the word "editor" does only reflect parts o what it is, that is OK.
