# API secret

The API secret is a feature used in many parts of the system.

The difference between the SaaS version and the On-Premises version is management, which results from the use of different dashboard. Below is the instruction on how to manage the API secret in the On-Premises version.

The API secret is available for every environment in the Cloud Services Management Panel. You can find it in the API Configuration section in the details of the environment.

To generate the API secret, click on the `Refresh` button on the right in the `Actions` column.
