CKEditor in review
- DrupalCon Amsterdam 2014 has begun and four members of the CKSource team will be in attendance representing CKEditor, which as you may already know is the default rich text editor in Drupal 8!
Wiktor Walc (CTO) and Robert Mikolajuk (PHP Developer) will be presenting a session entitled CKEditor in Drupal 8 - The New Possibilities on Tuesday at 13:00-14:00.
On Wednesday, CKEditor Project Lead, Frederico Knabben, and Piotr Koszulinski (Lead JavaScript Developer) will join them and attend various activities throughout the remainder of the conference. Both will take part in Friday's Sprints.
In all, it's going to be a great opportunity for CKSource team members to meet the Drupal community again and exchange ideas. We urge anyone attending the conference to drop by and say hello!
- CKEditor 4.4.5 was released last week! It includes a fix for an issue introduced in the recent Safari 7.1 update. The update also contains a variety of other improvements, including some further refactoring of the undo manager, a workaround for a Chrome 37 issue, and a few other fixes.
Around the Net
- SiteCrafting.com made a nice comparison of why they decided to implement CKEditor in future versions of GearBox, their flagship content management system. The comparison goes over the pluses and minuses of various WYSIWYG editors, with CKEditor winning out over the competition. A great read.
That's it for this week. If you would like to be featured in one of our CKEditor Weeklies, or have an interesting tidbit that relates to CKEditor, leave a comment below or contact us!
