CKEditor Weekly for November 25, 2013

We're back with another edition of CKEditor Weekly. Now that the dust has settled from the release of CKEditor 4.3 and 4.2.3, the team's focus has shifted to closing tickets. The upcoming 4.3.1 already includes a few fixes. Read on for more…

CKEditor in review

  • With 4.3 out, focus is now on CKEditor 4.3.1. A few issues have already been closed. Widget dragging has been improved (the ability to easily drag widgets around content is one of the key features). The new Enhanced Image plugin also got a couple of fixes.
You can follow 4.3.1's progress here

  • Another fix in 4.3.1 is stability in Quirks Mode. The editor will no longer crash in IE11.
  • We're pondering adding Show Blocks to widgets to make it easier to see where you are placing them.

  • The team released a widgets installation guide. Since widgets have dependencies we recommend installing them via the Add-ons repository.

Around the Net

  • Tom Boutell and Co. released an update to their module that replaces Apostrophe’s content area with CKEditor.

  • Keith Mancuso released a simple extension that integrates the CKEditor AutoSave plugin into Pixel and Tonic’s Wygwam editor for ExpressionEngine

  • Tony Junkes posted a guide on how to use arrayEach() to generate JSON for the Image Browser plugin.

That's it for this week. If you would like to be featured in one of our CKEditor Weeklies, or have an interesting tidbit that relates to CKEditor, leave a comment below or contact us!
