CKEditor Weekly for May 19, 2014

We're back with another edition of CKEditor Weekly. We have news about the CKEditor team attending DrupalCamp Wroclaw 2014 last week and CKEditor 4.4.1 getting released tomorrow! Read on for more...

CKEditor in review

  • CKEditor 4.4.1 will likely be released tomorrow! It includes a variety of fixes and a new feature that lets you set JavaScript code in anchor tags with href attributes (disabled by default, of course). It's a loaded update that will also introduce the first fix for the dreaded WebKit/Blink backspace & delete bug, so stay tuned! You can view the changelog here...

  • CKEditor's Wiktor WalcAleksander Nowodzinski and Robert Mikolajuk attended DrupalCamp Wroclaw 2014 last Saturday and Sunday! The team talked about CKEditor being the default WYSIWYG editor in Drupal 8 and a variety of other topics.

In short, their presentation covered how in Drupal 8 you no longer need to download confusing modules or install a separate CKEditor library. It also went over the benefits of ACF and Widgets, writing and adding plugins to CKEditor and how to migrate from Drupal 7 to Drupal 8.

More about DrupalCamp Wroclaw 2014, including pics, videos and plugins for download, later this week! You can view some early pics from the camp here...

Around the Net

  • Aglobalway posted a tutorial on how to make CKEditor configurations in Drupal work with the bootstrap theme. It shows how to add Bootstrap components to your CKEditor styles and how to add extra configurations to ckeditor.config.js.

  • Tse-Ching Ho released an update for his gem that integrates CKEditor with the Rails asset pipeline. The gem now includes CKEditor 4.4.

That's it for this week. If you would like to be featured in one of our CKEditor Weeklies, or have an interesting tidbit that relates to CKEditor, leave a comment below or contact us!
