We're back with another edition of CKEditor Weekly. CKEditor 4.3.4 is getting close to being released and there's news regarding future releases. Read on for more...

CKEditor in review

  • CKEditor 4.3.4 development was closed last week, which means the update will be out soon - possibly next week. Here's what to expect:

    • Various improvements to source protection

    • A couple of IE8 fixes (yes, we're still supporting it!)

    • An IE11 bug fix where an error was thrown when trying to open preview using keyboard

    • And a few other fixes, which you can view the details here

  • The Media Embed plugin is pending review. Let's keep our fingers crossed.

  • The Code Snippet plugin got heavily worked on over the week. It's coming along nicely.

  • The Enhanced Image plugin is getting polished. The changes are relevant for third-parties like Drupal 8.

  • The Drag & Drop plugin milestone was moved to CKEditor 4.5.

  • Due to popular demand the team is pondering adding MathML support to the Mathematical Formulas plugin.

Around the Net

  • Djando CKEditor 1.0 was released. It contains the editor and functionality for uploading and browsing files on your server.

  • Bob Balfe posted a video of the new CKEditor implementation in WebSphere Commerce Management Center.

  • Varga Tamás posted a YouTube video (in Hungarian) showing how to install and configure CKEditor in Drupal 7.

  • Brian Lewis announced that all new videos at Modules Unraveled are going to be free for a full week after they are posted.

That's it for this week. If you would like to be featured in one of our CKEditor Weeklies, or have an interesting tidbit that relates to CKEditor, leave a comment below or contact us!
