We're back with another edition of CKEditor Weekly. It was CKEditor's 11th anniversary so the team met in CKSource's Warsaw office last Thursday and Friday to party and share ideas on how to improve CKEditor! A lot was covered so read on for more...

CKEditor in review

  • The CKEditor core team met in Warsaw, Poland, for CKEditor's 11th anniversary and discussed a variety of topics:

    • CKEditor 5: New features, a new look, dropping support for IE8/IE9 and Quirks Mode, revamping the code, creating a WYSIWYG editing library for web apps.

    • CKEditor for mobiles: New UI, new functionalities, various compatibility challenges, etc.

    • CKFinder 3: A new interface, cropping and image manipulation tools, mobile support and functionality, a new library, new customization options, etc.

    • Toolbar configurator: A tool that lets you easily customize the order and placement of buttons in CKEditor.

To see pictures of the event visit our Facebook and Google+ pages.

  • indri_kunstmaan uploaded a new skin to the CKEditor skin repository. You can get it here

Around the Net

  • Following the release of the above videos, Sven Hasselbach posted a blog on how to hotfix CKEditor so you don’t need to change the HTML files on domino servers.

  • vfigueiro created a Django app that contains the static files for CKEditor.

That's it for this week. If you would like to be featured in one of our CKEditor Weeklies, or have an interesting tidbit that relates to CKEditor, leave a comment below or contact us!
