We're back with another edition of CKEditor Weekly. The team is deeply immersed coding various features for CKEditor 4.4, so read on for more details...
CKEditor in review
-
Development on the official Media Embed plugin is under way, which will let you (o)embed media from various sources in the WYSIWYG area. You can follow the plugin's progress here.
As of now it’s planned to be included in the Standard and Full packages, but this could still change. It will cover all popular social sites (Youtube, Twitter, Facebook, Vimeo) and many others. The plugin uses the Noembed provider but the team is still deciding which sites to include (there’s currently 46 in total and the list is growing).
If you have suggestions on which media you think should be included, we’re open to suggestions. Leave a comment below. -
The new Drag & Drop plugin is also underway and going through the usual steps of development, including working around the expected problems related to older Internet Explorer versions - nothing the team hasn’t handled a million times before. You can follow plugin's progress here.
Around the Net
- For all our Spanish speaking users, Javier Prieto posted a nice blog detailing how he installed CKEditor in Drupal 6. The blog even showcases a previously posted Youtube guide (also in Spanish) and how to add the AutoSave plugin, which you can grab from our repository.
- Markdevilliers uploaded CKEditor's Basic, Standard and Full packages to NuGet, a package manager for the Microsoft development platform (including .NET).
That's it for this week. If you would like to be featured in one of our CKEditor Weeklies, or have an interesting tidbit that relates to CKEditor, leave a comment below or contact us
