CKEditor Weekly for February 25, 2014

We're back with another edition of CKEditor Weekly. CKEditor 4.3.3 should be out today! It's a minor bug-fixing release that includes various widget enhancements and fixes. The CKEditor documentation site also got another update. Read on for more...

CKEditor in review

  • CKEditor 4.3.3 should be out today! It's a minor release that includes a few changes to the Enhanced Image plugin, Advanced Content Filter and a few corrections to the Table plugin.

  • Best Practices guide was added to the documentation site. It covers various topics you should be familiar with before installing, configuring and integrating CKEditor.

  • Ændrew Rininsland added a plugin to the repository that easily lets you adjust letter-spacing (tracking). You can check it out here.

  • Development of the Drag & Drop plugin continues to progress forward. Undo handling in inline and classic editor is working fine in Chrome, but there's still work to be done in other browsers, especially IE (who would have guessed).

Around the Net

  • A member of the community shared that if you want to install CKFinder in Railo (a popular Open Source CFML engine), you need to change the variables 'url' to, for example, 'urlpath' in ckfinder.cfc ('url' is a scope within Railo or ColdFusion and can't be used as a variable name in Railo).

  • Django CKEditor updated to version 4.2.7. The application adds CKEditor to Django admin or in forms.

That's it for this week. If you would like to be featured in one of our CKEditor Weeklies, or have an interesting tidbit that relates to CKEditor, leave a comment below or contact us!
