Two years ago, a WordPress developer created my website which includes the CKEditor plugin version 3.6.3 for WordPress. I wanted to learn WordPress' editor (TinyMCE) first, so I deactivated CKEditor in January 2013. Now I want to use CKEditor, but only if I can reactivate it without causing problems to my web pages and WordPress 3.4.2 website.
That old version of WordPress and my plugins (including a security plugin) are mutually compatible, and satisfactory for my simple website. I will continue using the old software as long as possible, but there's no point in reactivating CKEditor if it might break my website or cause undesired side-effects. Is this a low risk step?
P.S. I am stuck with old plugins because not all of the plugins have updates available.
CKEditor 4.4.4 for WordPress
CKEditor 4.4.4 for WordPress is compatible with WP 3.2 or higher, so there shouldn't be problems with the default WordPress. Can't vouch for other 3rd-party plugins you might have installed. It's always good to install new things on a testing site before going live.
