I am following issues and questions in regards of supporting HTML5 by CKE.
Maintaining a semantic html code, along with using rich text formats drives me crazy for quite some time.
With announcement of incomifng C4.0 I thought most problems will be solved, and support for HTML5 will greatly increase. But after its release I was dissapointed. I still have switch to source view, to get things done properly, asking myself how a non-technical person might ever achieve them ?
I'm not asking how - because after spending long hours I haven't found a way - but when CKE will get full support for HTML5 ?
I'm not able to manage <span> sections, which are (almost) always deleted, and while for example using microdata's <meta> item, whole page structure breaks down, as open tags need to be closed. I stumbled upon trying to figure out some hacks or force CKE by some config rulez, but there's not a single thread dealing with advanced html5 in editor.
It would be awesome if anyone could share his experience when it goes to rich text formats and html5 in wysiwyg editors. I'm fine with CKE, as it's an awesome wysiwyg editor, but afterall there's no use of wysiwyg when it goes to RTF.
You have to use the ACF rules
You have to use the ACF rules (Advanced Content Filter).
with this you can use all the tag you want whith all the attributes !
this is i put in my config.js
config.extraAllowedContent ={
'div span p a em strong ': {
attributes: ['itemscope','itemtype','itemprop'],
},
'time':{
attributes: ['itemprop','datetime']
}
now i can use all these microdata attribute with the define tag div, span ,p, a em, strong
i can even use the tag time.
and ckeditor won't delete these micro data attributes
hope it will help u
