<hr> issue only in IE

Hi,

Having an issue with <hr> 2.3.2 only happening in firefox. In IE it does crazy things with the <hr> when I edit something or click the Source button.

When previewed edited in Firefox it's fine..stays where it should. In IE the <hr> tag is pushed all the way down to the end of the page.

Anyone know how to fix this?

No...<hr /> is a the full tag. the /> makes it w3c compliant as you don't need a closing tag. Like <br />

Anyways, FCKEditor puts in the <hr /> when it's clicked. The problem is that when you edit something in IE it moves all <hr> tags from their proper placement in the middle of the content all to the end of the content.

Anyone have any ideas?

Hi,
We are encountering the same problem - the editor in IE occasionally rearranging the <hr> tags to the very bottom of the content. I haven't found the pattern to it yet...

If anyone has any ideas let us know!

The problem you are encountering is that FCK seems to have a HTMl corrector. The code you showed is not compliant. HR cannot go inside a P tag so it cleans it up for you.

BTW, it appears that the FF code doesn't have this cleaner. I have an issue where I'm making an editor where I want to insert some Coldfusion tags and in IE it totally deletes them because they aren't standard HTML tags. Firefox will take them fine. I am curious to see the in the API whether this code sweeping can be turned off. In your case, since you said you want to be compliant, you might want to just be aware of what is allowed to be embedded.
